John, founder and director of InTuition, holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Maths and Science Education; a Cert T.E.F.L., and a BSc from Swansea University. With over 30 years of teaching experience, he has led an outstanding maths and science department at Tregonwell Academy (for children with challenging behaviour) and taught Biology A-level at Barton Peveril College in Southampton.
John has also been a Cambridge University Teacher Trainer and Education Consultant, spending five years in Madagascar training teachers and accrediting international schools for the British Curriculum.
Known for his kind, patient, child-centred approach, he builds confidence in even the most anxious students.
John has been married to Cath for 26 years and is a proud dad to three daughters.
Cath holds a P.G.C.E. in English from Lancaster University, a BSc in Linguistics from Reading, and a Cert T.E.F.L. She was Head of English at Lytham St Anne's Grammar School and later taught English to international students.
Trained in PACE and trauma-informed practice, she has extensive experience supporting children with autism and SEMH.
She is compassionate and understanding of children's needs, she founded and directs www.faminternational.org.uk partnering with Madagascar's government to improve care for vulnerable children. Cath is dedicated to helping children thrive, ensuring their voices are heard, and supporting families in need.
She is married to John and a proud mother of three daughters.
Hannah has worked in education since 2014, gaining experience in teaching and student support/management roles. As a qualified teacher, she has taught at levels ranging from Primary to Higher Education. Specializing in Geography, English, and Primary Education, her experience includes GCSE exam marking and one-to-one tuition, helping students build confidence and achieve their potential. She has taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL), junior summer courses, and supported international students through guardianships in the UK.
Trained in safeguarding (DSL level) with a focus on mental health, Hannah takes a holistic approach to teaching. She believes learning should be fun and meaningful, creating a safe, inspiring environment tailored to each student's needs.
Liz is a qualified teacher with 14 years’ experience in primary and 2ndry education. She primarily supports English language, with support for emotional regulation. Her aim is to help children feel understood, build confidence, and enjoy learning. She has worked with diverse learners, from high achievers to those needing extra support and her flexible, creative approach is always child-focused. She's also led yoga and mindfulness sessions, helping kids find calm & focus in engaging ways.
Currently, Liz is completing her advanced training in counselling and psychotherapy, which enhances her ability to address children’s emotional and academic needs.

Martin has a background in management and entered the teaching profession in later life. His interest in education, lead him into being the chair of governors for both Twynham and the Grange (Secondary schools in Christchurch. Dorset) where he used his management background to implement strategic improvements for the benefit of both pupils and parents.
Over recent years Martin has been delivering maths across KS3 and G.C.S.E. supporting S.E.N. & L.A.C. as well as gifted and talented high performing students. He is passionate about all things maths and his enthusiastic but patient, step by step approach has helped many pupils gain high grades in this subject.
Martin has a way of breaking down difficult maths concepts into easily understandable bitesize pieces of information that are easily digested even by pupils who have found maths a real challenge.

Beth excelled in Advanced Maths, Computing, and Animation, earning 2 A*s and an A alongside nearly all grade 9s in her GCSEs (1 grade 8). She is now studying for a BSC in computing at Bristol university. Educated through a British online school rather than a traditional classroom, the flexible learning environment and smaller class sizes allowed her to thrive. At 20, Beth is a youth worker at her local church, deeply understanding the pressures young people face. At 11, she passed her 11+ and was one of only three primary school peers offered a Grammar School place, though a family move abroad prevented her from attending. Passionate about helping gifted young learners, Beth now tutors 11+ preparation, KS3 & GCSE online maths. Her extensive experience as a peer leader makes her a talented primary and Key Stage 3 tutor, and a valuable asset to In-Tuition.
James achieved A* in English, A in History, and B in Politics at A level and is now pursuing a law degree at Bristol University. With extensive experience working with young people, he connects especially well with young men. At 10, he placed 3rd in the under-11s British Mountain Biking Competition and later became a professional squash coach. James gained valuable experience mentoring children outside mainstream education and his role as youth leader in his church, has given him deep insight into the challenges young people face today. He is Passionate about helping them reach their full potential, he offers online English and History support.
Leo is a second-year Computer Science student at the University of Bath. currently on placement in Dorset. He achieved 4 A*s at A-level in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computer Science, along with 10 GCSE grade 9s. Inspired by exceptional A-Level teachers, he is passionate about tailored teaching. His approach focuses on building a deep understanding and intuition that can benefit other subjects. During his gap year, Leo volunteered as a youth worker and worked in customer service, experiences that help him engage students and boost their confidence. He offers online Maths and Science tutoring from KS3 to A-Level at reduced fees..
